While living in London, I became obsessed with afternoon tea… the food, the tradition, the cultural impact. Over the course of five years, I learned all I could about the experience. From making scones and clotted cream, to blending my own teas & visiting nearly every tearoom in England. I wanted to re-create the experience back here in Portland but it needed an update. I wanted to create a new, modern afternoon tea experience with The Hazel Hall by using local, PNW ingredients and foregoing any tradition.
